After delivering a very touching eulogy last week for Ron Santo, Pat Hughes announced today he will wear a toupee during the 2011 Cubs season to honor his former radio partner who passed away earlier this month.
“I was thinking of a way to pay proper tribute to Ronnie this season,” said Hughes. “And I figured ‘What a better way than wear a rug just like his?'”
Hughes said it might take him a while to get the hang of wearing a Santo-style toupee.
“When I first tried it on I’m pretty sure I had it on backwards,” said Hughes. “But now that I think it’s on correctly, I’m sure you’ll agree with me that it’s quite handsome.”
