Few picked the Bears to start the season at 2-0, but after stealing a win in Week 1 against the Lions and mowing down an underachieving Cowboys team Sunday, that’s just where they are. The stage is now set for a battle of undefeated teams next Monday night when the Packers visit Soldier Field.
Also 2-0, Green Bay has looked relatively sharp in its first two games and is positioned high on most experts’ power rankings. While the Bears remain a darkhorse, fans areĀ excited for what they’re hoping will be a clash of the titans.
“Anytime you get a match up of unbeaten teams, it’s a huge deal,” said Bears fan Paul Johnston who plans to line up Wednesday to secure a prime a Soldier Field tailgating spot. “It’s like Ali-Frazier.”
ESPN NFL analyst John Clayton isn’t convinced.
“We’re talking about a Bears team that should have lost its first game to the Lions,” said Clayton. “Sure, it’s a battle for first place, but it’s way too early to talk about the playoffs. Anyone who thinks this game has huge implications on the rest of the season is off their rocker.”
