Cubs owner Tom Ricketts is a longtime fan of his new ballclub, a fact that doesn’t sit well with crosstown front office man Jerry Reinsdorf.
“An owner is supposed to rule his team with an iron fist and a cold heart,” said Reinsdorf. “Just look at how I treat the Bulls and Sox. I literally hate them.”
According to some estimates, Reinsdorf has attended fewer than a dozen Bulls and White Sox games since 1998, and has gone on record numerous times wishing the Bulls would be contracted out of the NBA.
“You also have to despise the fans … that’s a big part of it too,” said Reinsdorf. “This Ricketts guy sounds like a real sucker.”
