Jonathan Toews’ inability to grow a playoff beard has been a running joke all postseason, but things got especially embarrassing for him when even the team’s logo recently began sporting more facial hair than the 21-year-old Blackhawks star.
“I showed up to the United Center for practice Thursday and everywhere I looked the Indian head had a better beard than me,” said Toews, scratching at his barely visible sideburns. “Man this thing is itchy … ”
Blackhawks equipment manager Rodney Gazinski was surprised the Hawks logo is now miraculously bearded.
“I had no idea the logo at the ability to grow facial hair,” said Gazinski. “Then again, I kind of figured Toews would be able to grow facial hair, so I guess I don’t know what I’m talking about.”
