Let it never be said that the NBA–and, in particular, this Bulls team–is not full of surprises. Such was the case Wednesday night, as the barely-better Indiana Pacers came in to Chicago to play the barely-there Bulls.
Surprise No. 1: With Luol Deng, Chris Duhon and Ben Gordon watching the game from the upper deck in street clothes, a scrub-tastic Bulls team easily beat the Pacers 108-95.

Surprise No. 2: Of all guys to step up and lead the team to victory, it was Kirk “Remember when I was good at Kansas?” Hinrich who scored a career-high 38 points, had 10 assists and seven rebounds. Stop laughing. That’s not a joke.

Surprise No. 3: With a 17-24 record, the Bulls find themselves just one game out of the last playoff spot in the East.

Seriously, stop laughing. This is all true.

Number of the night: 3

Points scored by Ben Wallace. He also had five rebounds. So much for veteran leadership over the youngsters.
