The Chicago Blackhawks scored seven goals? In one game?
Believe it. Jeff Hamilton had a hat trick and Patrick Sharp added two as the Blackhawks went into Phoenix and beat the Coyotes 7-5.
The Hawks also beat up the Coyotes physically. Recent call-up and pugilist David Koci got in three fights and was eventually ejected. He received 42 penalty minutes in the game, which included a 10-minute game misconduct. He didn’t seem fazed after the game.
“I really don’t know much about this ‘hockey’ sport people are referring to. I just punch. A lot. I call it my Fists of Fury.”
“He’s an energy guy,” coach Denis Savard said. “Plus he’s insane. I’m actually quite terrified of him. Please don’t tell him where I live.”
The Hawks are riding a modest three game winning streak. Unfortunately it’s too little, too late as the playoffs are almost upon us. There’s always next year…right?
