After a week of controversies leading into the Daytona 500, more bad news hit the headlines a few hours after NASCAR’s biggest race.
Just minutes after Clint Bowyer crossed the Daytona 500 finish line upside-down in his Jack Daniel’s-sponsored Chevrolet, the 27-year-old was arrested for driving the race under the influence.
“We’re saddened that Mr. Bowyer was intoxicated,” said Steven Hanna, a Jack Daniel’s spokesperson. “But we’re happy while breaking the law, he was drinking delicious and refreshing Jack and Cokes, America’s cocktail.”
